Partnerships with recyclers, scrap dealers and haulers
We add the HRM Cheongju MRF's processing facility and HRM's outlets in Korea and overseas to a partner's collection network and material. HRM does not try to collect and process every ton itself. Near Cheongju we share collection and contracted treatment; material secured by mid-sized and large scrap dealers, baling yards and haulers anywhere in Korea is sold to the paper mills, smelters and manufacturers HRM trades with.
Partners do what they do best on the ground. HRM adds processing, quality control, sales, logistics and settlement.
Cheongju as the hub of resource circulation
No single operator can collect all the recyclables generated across the country. At the same time, material that scrap dealers and haulers have secured often falls short of its value for lack of processing equipment, storage, outlets or access to large end buyers. HRM is building the Cheongju MRF and its trading desks as the hub that connects the two.

Ways to work together
- Collection and haulage
- Material secured by haulers is routed to the Cheongju MRF. Partners keep their customers and collection relationships; HRM handles processing and sales. Regular volumes, one-off large lots and items that are hard to process in house can all be discussed. The area around Cheongju is the core, but where volume and freight make sense, location is not a limit.
- Contracted sorting, baling and treatment
- Where a partner has no equipment or not enough capacity, sorting, baling, storage and recovery can be contracted to HRM within its permits and facility. Processes are shared rather than duplicated.
- Joint sales
- Large sites, apartment complexes and manufacturers that one company cannot serve alone are handled together. HRM and the partner each take the part they are strongest in, whether collection, on-site management, transport, treatment or settlement.
- Access to end buyers
- HRM trades with paper mills, metal producers and plastics recyclers and manufacturers in Korea and overseas. Wherever a partner is, material that meets the quality and terms can be sold through HRM's end-buyer network. It can go straight to HRM's trading desks without passing through Cheongju; small lots can be pooled to reach scale, and new outlets found beyond the existing market.
- Developing new items together
- Beyond paper and plastics, cooperation is extending to non-ferrous metals such as aluminum and copper and to industrial by-products. If a partner has found new material but not the way to process or sell it, HRM can look at it together.

Roles and terms first
Who does collection, transport, treatment, storage, quality control and sales, and on what cost and settlement terms, is set out before the deal wherever possible.
Transparent weighing and quality
The figures a deal rests on, incoming weight, quality, contamination and treatment results, are recorded and shared with the partner.
Small lots are pooled and sold
We pool small lots from several partners to reach scale and sell them to the buyers HRM trades with in Korea and overseas. We aim for trades that can be repeated, not one-offs.
